A tourist |
||||
I do not smoke and I never have smoked. So if I in this picture have to choose between the hand that holds a cigarette and the hand that holds a piece of potato chips, I would always choose for the hand that holds a piece of potato chips. But I do so reluctantly, I am also not very fond of potato chips. Last year at a party I smoked my first cigarette. Friends told me it looked ridiculous. I went to the bathroom in order to check myself in a mirror. And they were right, it looked ridiculous. Somebody told me that a cigarette looked ridiculous on me because from the way I was holding the cigarette it became clear that it was not supposed to be there. He compared it with a tourist that just arrives in a new city. From the amazed, maybe even confused look at his face you can tell that he is also not supposed to be there. That is the reason why I decided that my first cigarette would also be my last. And it is the reason why I am a bit jealous of this person in the picture. He does not hold his cigarette like a tourist in a new city. Instead he holds his cigarette like a person who has been living in this city for years. |
